WHY TRAIN IN KENAI?

PFA is located in Kenai, Alaska about 50 nautical miles south of Anchorage. Kenai’s airport (PAEN) is situated within 20 miles of the Chugiak Mountain Range, the shoreline of Cook Inlet, and the world class Kenai River. The airspace around Kenai ranges from congested to areas of relatively unused airspace. This allows the safest possible environment for our students, yet the opportunity to experience high traffic close by. Some additional advantages of Kenai’s location are as follows:

  • Close proximity to tall mountains and passes for mountain training.

  • Numerous lightly used unimproved and paved strips to focus on pattern work.

  • Close proximity to Towered and Non Towered airports.

  • ILS (instrument landing system) located on the airport saving time on travel and congestion.
